Welcome to the Golf Club Members Section
Stockwood Park Golf Club is an independent club whose members play their golf at Stockwood Park Golf Centre. This centre is one of a number of sports facilities across Luton run by Active Luton. Active Luton is a charitable organisation that is sustained by a combination of external funding and income generation, including an annual grant from Luton Borough Council. Please be clear that whilst certain synergies exist between the members club section and the golf centre, the two are separate entities.
We are a friendly club that welcomes both beginners and established golfers of all abilities. We have a well established yearly programme that allows for competitive golf throughout the season. There are Men, Women and Junior sections. We are always looking to expand their numbers so please get in touch either using the Contact Form or through the Pro-Shop.
The club is run by a small number of dedicated volunteers, aka the committee. Please refer to the 'Committee' Menu option for details of their roles and responsibilities should you wish to learn more.
The main course is ideal for both friendly and competitive games. The greenkeepers do an excellent job of maintaining the course to a very high standard, even with the current climate and restrictions! The course is often praised by visitors and members alike. It is extremely rare for temporary greens to be seen on the course, so it is highly unlikely you will not play a 'proper' round of golf, even in adverse weather. But, if the course and the weather are such that it cannot be played reasonably then the course will close in order to maintain its general condition.
In addition to the independent members section, the golf centre has an excellent range of practice facilities for all to enjoy. The driving range offers plenty of bays, for both left and right handed golfers to choose from. Plus there is an academy section for juniors to have lessons, either individually or in groups. There is a PGA qualified coach, employed through Active Luton, who can offer a variety of lessons across all aspects of the game. The Par 3 nine hole course is superb for honing your chipping and putting skills (and it's free to fully paid up 5 and 7 day members!).
Active Luton offer a variety of ways to pay green fees so please visit their website for more details. Whichever option you choose to pay your green fees it makes no difference to being a member, assuming the relevant members joining fee has been paid (please see the How to Join menu option).
We hope to see you soon for a friendly, or competitive, round of golf!!
